If you are pregnant or have a newborn, you are facing new challenges every day. Family & Children’s Services is here to help you successfully meet those challenges. We can answer your questions and help you work through problems that every new parent faces. Knowing what to expect can help alleviate some of the anxiety new parents may feel
Pre & Post Natal Counseling: Free individual or joint counseling for coping with pregnancy, a new baby or pregnancy loss.
Doula Program
Doula Program Be paired with a volunteer Doula who provides friendship and support throughout the pregnancy, labor and delivery as well as through your baby’s first year.
Ten good reasons to have a Doula: A Doula….
Recognizes that your birth experience is an important event that you will remember all your life.
Provides emotional support for you before, during and after baby-until your child is one year of age.
Can provide or suggest physical and emotional comfort measures to assist you during labor and delivery.
Can help connect you with community resources.
Can offer parenting education and support.
Can offer an ear to listen-when you have something to say.
Can answer questions or find the answer to questions that you may have about labor and delivery or parenting.
Gives you one-on-one attention and can “be there for you”.
Can encourage you to reach your personal goals.
Is someone you can have fun with!
Adoption Services
We provide emotional support as you go through the process of adoption. We can give references to agencies that facilitate adoption.
Prepared Parents
Designed for younger parents, this class will help you and your support person to get ready for the changes a new baby brings. The classes include instruction about pregnancy, labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, infant care, infant CPR, child development, and other areas of interest when it comes to the journey through pregnancy and your baby’s first year of life.
