Group Services
 

To meet the needs of the community's growing interest in dealing effectively with life transitions, Group Services offers a variety of programs. Classes and groups are designed to enhance the lives of youth, individuals, couples and families. Fees are based on the specific program offered.

Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP)
is a parenting group for parents of children of all ages. Participants learn realistic and practical approaches to meet the challenge of raising children today. Take the first step now in improving your relationships with your children.

Systematic Training for Effective Parenting of Teens (STEP/Teen)
is for parents and others who want better communication with teenagers. Participants learn techniques to build positive relationships, apply natural and logical consequences and approach concerns such as drug abuse, sexuality and depression.

Adolescent Substance Use Support Group
is for teens sharing problems and experiences, school issues, taking ownership of using, anger management, boundaries, family history, legal issues, exploring positive alternatives and problem solving.

Family-Centered Treatment of Adolescents With Substance Abuse Problems

Teens/Parents working on abstinence, taking ownership of using substances, problem solving, boundaries and how to initiate them, exploring values/morals/belief systems, exploring positive alternative activities, communication and your child, coping mechanisms, and living together as a family.

Kinship Caregivers Support Group
is a group for grandparents and other relative caregivers to discuss the joys and challenges of parenting the second time around. Guest speakers provide information regarding legal, financial, parenting and other concerns. The Kin Kids children's group provides support and fun activities during the caregivers meeting.
