Camp
Iknowme |
|
| |
Camp
Iknowme is a coordinated effort, headed by FCS, that brings together more
than 12 community partners to provide up to 12 court referred at risk
youth with a unique summer camp experience. Designed to be experiential in
nature, each day is filled with different approaches and activities to
engage the youth and develop a therapeutic environment within the group
setting. The purpose of the camp is to provide a variety of
approaches to situations where these youth have been known to struggle,
and to create an environment that allows them to transfer these skills to
their personal lives. Volunteer service opportunities allow the youth to
give back to the community. Weekly field trips are intended as a fun
way to expose the youth to a variety of positive social activities
available within Midland County since many of the youths have a lot of
time on their hands during the summer break with little adult supervision
during the day. FCS hopes that Camp Iknowme will be a chance for campers
to see their community in a new light and provide them with exposure to
exciting opportunities. We are optimistic that the effects of their
camp experience will radiate out from their lives to their immediate
family, neighborhood, and the Midland Community. |
