“In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity”
- Albert Einstein
|
|
I have reflected on this quote a lot over the
past few months. Family is the first
word in our name and it is our focus as we work everyday to meet the needs
of our community. I believe that as
a member of this community, Family and Children’s Services has a
responsibility to respond and meet the needs of those who seek our help.
|
|
We accept this
responsibility, feel humbled, and honored with the trust that our
community places in us. We continue
to provide exceptional programs and services in response to the needs of
our community. I know that Family
and Children’s Services will seek every opportunity to meet the
challenges and needs. When children
and families are strong, communities are strong.
|
|
|
Since 1925, Family and
Children’s Services has served as the conduit of hope for many in our
community. In the early days, we
helped people with tasks such as canning their fruits and vegetables.
Times certainly have changed. Today,
we continue to meet our community’s needs in different and varying ways.
|
|
The State economy has hit
us hard, but more importantly it has been hard for those we serve.
Our community faces new challenges. Poverty
is increasing. Schools are feeling
financial stressors. We hear stories
almost every day of a friend, family member or someone we know has lost
their job. The current economic
climate affects everyone.
|
|
|
Our promise to you is that
we will face these challenges head on. We
will persevere with our community and continue to seek ways to provide the
essential services on which so many of our friends, family and neighbors
count on - despite the difficulties that exist.
|
|
At Family and Children’s
Services we believe our community is a better place because we are here to
help. On a daily basis, our staff
and volunteers demonstrate their commitment to the work we do.
Lives are saved, lives are changed everyday at Family and
Children’s Services. In
partnership with you, we will continue to make
Midland
a stronger place to live.
|
|
|
Whether you have used our
services, volunteered, or supported us in so many other ways, we want to
sincerely thank you. Together we
make a difference as we work to fulfill our mission.
As we embark on our continued journey to meet the needs in our
community, we will persist in pursuing our mission with diligence.

|
At Family and Children’s
Services, it is all about people; People Helping People Succeed in
Life.
