Family & Children’s Services Care for Yourself Challenge
January 3 @ 8:00 am - February 27 @ 5:00 pm
We invite everyone to take part in the CARE FOR YOURSELF CHALLENGE by setting a goal to make self-care a priority. Sometimes we are so busy with our own schedules, we forget to take time to make sure that we are incorporating activities that we enjoy doing. We all have something that we want to make more time to do. Whether it is running, cooking, yoga, reading, knitting, meditating, painting, or another activity, doing what you enjoy or makes you feel better has real value in improving mental health and reducing stress.
The challenge will last 8 weeks, starting on Sunday, January 3. Challenge yourself by setting a goal for each week and by February 27, you may have formed a new habit that will make you feel happier and less stressed and improve your well-being. Along the way, you can earn prizes and celebrate your achievements! Everyone who registers will receive a bracelet to wear as daily reminder to make self-care a priority. Participants who raise $100 will receive an awesome t-shirt and our top fundraiser* will receive 8 one-day park hopper passes to Walt Disney World!
We hope you will ask people to support your participation in the challenge and commitment to good mental health and well-being by making a donation to help FCS meet the needs of our community In these challenging times, people who will turn to FCS for counseling and support need help more than ever.
We’ll be hosting two virtual kickoff events in December – a coffee hour and a happy hour. Bring your own beverages and snacks— and all of your event questions— to these Zoom meetings where we will fill you in on event details, including ways that you can make this fun and important fundraiser your own! Each kickoff meeting will be about 30 minutes to one hour long.
At the kickoff and all through this 8-week event we’ll share lots of ideas of ways to make self-care a priority and also ways to raise funds to help those who will reach out to Family & Children’s Services for mental health services for themselves, a child, or their family. You can also encourage others to join in and take part in the challenge by forming a team or incorporate a milestone like a birthday or anniversary or accept donations in honor of a loved one.
We hope you will register today and take advantage of this opportunity to help FCS care for our community as we care for ourselves!
